On the way back from the Youth Investment Camp that took place in Viirelaid Island back in June, Anastassia Ussova joined one of our team members for a ride back to Tallinn. During the drive, several speakers shared memories of their high school years, their first jobs, and the crucial role internships played in shaping their careers. Anastassia took that conversation to heart as it sparked a flame inside her—by the very next week, she approached us eagerly about internship opportunities at Estateguru!
From the moment she joined, Anastassia brought her infectious enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit to every task she undertook, engaging in various growth, marketing and investor relations activities, participating in management meetings, and even developing a marketing plan to attract a younger audience to Estateguru- showcasing her keen insight and innovative thinking. She took on challenges like cold calling, conducting user research, identifying real estate market trends and visited one of our latest funded projects to see the renovation progress firsthand.

Insights from Anastassia: A Unique Intern’s Experience at Estateguru
We had the opportunity to reflect on her time with us. Here’s what she had to say:
How did you find out about Estateguru, and what made you want to join us?
“I discovered Estateguru during the Youth Investment Camp when Daniil (Aal, COO) gave a presentation on crowdfunding and introduced the company. Before this, I hadn’t heard much about Estateguru, so I decided to research it further. The company’s innovative approach to finance intrigued me, and given my interest in the financial sector, I inquired about internship opportunities to gain practical experience. I’m thrilled to have made it to Estateguru!”
What has been your favourite part of interning with us?
“My favorite part of the internship was the opportunity to do practical tasks independently. Although I only had theoretical knowledge before, the hands-on experience at Estateguru allowed me to apply my knowledge in a real-world setting, which was incredibly beneficial.”
How has this internship helped you grow personally or professionally?
“This internship helped me grow both professionally and personally. I gained insights into how investment companies operate and acquired experience in marketing and investing. I even had the chance to develop a marketing plan for Gen Z and talk to real investors. Moreover, visiting a construction project was insanely interesting to me. Personally, I became more open-minded and overcame some of my fears because I faced several challenges during this month. This internship helped me realize that finance is a field I want to pursue in the future.”
What skills or knowledge have you gained during your time here?
“During my time here, I became more confident and independent. Interacting with new people enhanced my open-mindedness. I faced several challenges that helped me become more adaptable. Additionally, I gained a lot of knowledge and experience in finance, investing, and crowdfunding.”
Can you share a memorable moment or project you worked on during your internship?
“A standout project for me was creating a marketing plan for youth. It was my first significant project, and I dedicated a lot of time to it, making it both memorable and rewarding.”
How do you think this experience will help you in your future career or studies?
“I am sure that this experience will be invaluable for my future career and studies. In addition to theoretical knowledge, I now have practical experience that I can integrate into my studies and future projects. Thanks to this internship, I realized that I want to study finance at university and pursue a career in the field.”
What surprised you the most about working in a professional environment?
“I was pleasantly surprised by the office culture at Estateguru – people in the office aren’t robots who work 24/7. The team was friendly, supportive, and always ready to help, making the workplace enjoyable and encouraging.”
How has this internship changed your perception of finance/real estate work?
“The internship revealed that finance work extends beyond a typical 9-to-5 schedule. It requires flexibility and readiness to solve issues outside regular hours. I also understood that work in finance is both stressful and very interesting. Every day you face different challenges and have to create new solutions for them. I am so excited to get my first job in the finance field!”
What advice would you give to other students considering an internship at our company?
“I would advise students to seize the opportunity and try it out! At first glance, it may seem challenging to work alongside more experienced colleagues (even if you are still a high school student), but the experience is really worth getting over those initial fears. Although I was nervous at first, the experience turned out to be one of the highlights of my summer.”
How did the team support you during your internship?
“The team was incredibly supportive and welcoming. Initially, I felt insecure, but as I interacted with team members, I realized how friendly and helpful they were. They regularly checked in on me, offering assistance and encouragement, which made me feel valued and supported. Estateguru has the best team!”
Would you recommend this internship to your friends or classmates? Why?
“I would definitely recommend this internship to my friends because it helped me grow as a person, gain a lot of knowledge and experience, and meet wonderful people.”
