The winner of Fintech of the Year 2019 was selected from five finalists following public votes and the valuation of the jury. EstateGuru was one of the finalists, eventually taking home the 3rd place prize.
This annual German-Estonian economic award acknowledges innovative Estonian companies. All local companies who have a track record of specific initiatives towards design, quality, production or export, qualify for the award. The award is already in its 11th year. In 2018 the focus was on start-ups, with Starship Technologies named the Start-up of the Year.
This year fintechs were at the centre of the competition. „Estonia has a functioning cashless society, where 99% of financial transactions are made digitally. Estonia has become the centre of excellence for financial technologies by having over 80 fintech-companies varying from innovative start-ups to blockchain leaders“, said Christopher Zimmer, the president of the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce.
„We are really happy to receive this award as it gives us an extra boost while we’re in the middle of entering the German market. Germany is at the very centre of our expansion plans in 2020. And of course, it’s a solid recognition of our 36 000 investors, who’ve trusted in us and who are fulfilling their dreams together with us“, said Marek Pärtel, Co-Founder and CEO of EstateGuru while receiving the award.
The German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce gave its 2019 German-Estonian Economic Award to Veriff. Besides EstateGuru and Veriff, Admiral Markets Group, AlphaBlues and Bondora were among the five finalists.
